Chá-kra™ / Branding / Packaging

The name comes from a “pun” on the junction of the word 'tea' ('chá' in portuguese) with the word 'chakra', the two basic concepts of the entire project. Project concept created with Liliana Silva.

Chá-kra™
is a tea brand that links tea to the chakras, each tea variety aligns and balances each chakra. Seven tea packages combining the aesthetics of the tarot cards, that also relates to the seven chakras. Targeted for people interested in the occult, spirituality, or simply people who like tea.

Chakras are various focal points, energy centers, used in various ancient meditation practices ("Tantra"), or in esoteric traditions of Hinduism. They arose from Indian traditions and their esoteric medieval beliefs about physiology and psychic centers.
Human life was believed to exist simultaneously in two parallel dimensions, one being the "physical body" and the other the "psychological, emotional" (non-physical) dimension. The psychic dimension interacts with the physical dimension, so the body and mind are intrinsically linked and affect each other, the energy centers transform physical/material energy into psychic/immaterial energy and vice versa. Each chakra is linked to a part of our body and, thus, to its functioning, and they are distributed vertically from the base of the spine of our body to the top of the head. Our product “chá-kra” comes from the ancient practice of tea, a practice of well-being, balance and relaxation, which can be associated with spiritualism and esoterism.
Thus, we joined the tea practice with the concept of chakras, creating mixtures of medicinal plants that aim to balance and align each of the main chakras (root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, crown).
The graphic design of the product also involves the tarot theme, which serves recreational and esoteric use. The concept of tarot cards is similar to the energetic and spiritual level of the chakras, as they have similar energy points for each chakra.
